AIRS

Mental Health Control Room Triage

Provider Summmary Budget 

Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) 

 

The Police and Crime Commissioner has invested in a control room triage pilot which will see mental health professionals situated in the police control room. These staff will have access to relevant health systems, offering advice and support to police officers and partner agencies such as Avon Fire and Rescue Service and South West Ambulance Trust with a view to ensuring suitable pathways are identified at the earliest opportunity. Funding has been secured for an initial period of two years.

2 year pilot with a total budget of £498,254 (£249,127 per year).

The Avon and Somerset PCC contributes £316,934 in total to this pilot (£158,467 per year) with the remaining funding being made up of contributions from:

  • Avon Fire and Rescue
  • Bath and North East Somerset CCG
  • Bristol CCG
  • North Somerset CCG
  • South Gloucestershire CCG

 

 

Appropriate Adults

Summary  Provider  and Funding

Service to support and safeguard the welfare and rights of vulnerable adults detained or interview by the police.

Somerset Youth Offending Service - £11,219

Please note Avon and Somerset Constabulary contribute to the above funding

Brandon Trust - £35,000

Please note that Avon and Somerset Constabulary, Bristol City Council and South Gloucestershire Council also contribute to the above funding

 

Cinnamon Network

Summary Funding 

The Cinnamon Network provide community based projects utilising their network of faith based groups. Projects are to deliver against their identified ‘outcome themes’:

  • Enabling children and young people to flourish
  • Supporting safer, stronger families
  • Building safer, stronger communities
  • Fighting poverty 

This project will link into providing community based interventions in Avon and Somerset Constabulary's five areas with the highest demand.

 

In 2015/16 the Police and Crime Commissioner contributed  £34,500 to the Cinnamon Network.
