Charities and organisations giving individuals hope featured heavily in Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Sue Mountstevens latest community day to Yeovil.

Ms Mountstevens spent the morning visiting Turning Point before visiting the South Somerset Muslim and Cultural Association and Yeovil Mosque.

At Turning Point’s in Yeovil the Commissioner met with various members of the staff team and clients. Turning Point is a national health and social care provider that believe in turning lives around.

Ms Mountstevens said: “It is really valuable listening to the clients of Turning Point. They unanimously agreed they are in a much better place with the help and encouragement of Turning Point than if they had been by themselves.

“Drugs and alcohol can wreck people’s lives and Turning Point gives them hope.”

In the afternoon, the Commissioner visited the South Somerset Muslim and Cultural Association at their Mosque located in Yeovil.
