Next PCC Police Public Forum - Tuesday May 27, 6.30-8.30pm, The Guildhall in Chard #YPCCYV

Residents of South Somerset are invited to come and put their questions to Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Sue Mountstevens and Acting Chief Constable John Long at their next public forum on Tuesday May 27, 2014.

The meeting, which will include a question and answer session, will be hosted at the Guildhall in Chard between 6.30-8.30pm and will give local people the opportunity to have their say on local policing in their communities.

Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens said: “I have previously visited Chard on one of my community days meeting with the Deputy Mayor, young people and hosting a public drop-in session at Eleos Café.

“I am delighted to be returning to meet more of the residents of South Somerset for them to share their local policing questions with myself and the Chief Constable.  I do hope that they will take the time to come and have their say on policing in their area.”

As well as presentations by the PCC and Acting Chief Constable, the session will also include an overview of policing in South Somerset by area Superintendent Geoff Wessell, all of which will be followed by questions and answers.

Acting Chief Constable John Long said: “Avon and Somerset is one of the largest areas in the country and so our public forums provide a vital link between our communities and police.

“The public are our eyes and ears and I am very much looking forward to meeting South Somerset residents to learn from them how we can help shape policing in the area.  I want to hear what they think about the service we provide, what we do well and perhaps what we don’t do quite as well, as part of our on-going efforts and commitment to keep people safe and feeling safe.”

Subject to the quality of the internet connection, the forum will be broadcast live and can be viewed here.
