Commissioners Community Action Fund Allocation for Quarter 3

CCAF and PCT logos

Local communities and voluntary organisations across Avon and Somerset have received over £52,000 as part of Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens Community Action Fund (CCAF).

Fifteen projects across Avon and Somerset were allocated funding for Quarter 3.

The Commissioner’s Community Action Fund of £200,000 was launched in May. This means there is still one more funding period from this financial year’s total.

Local residents group awarded funding to regenerate a local green space to reduce ASB in partnership with local services including the Police.

Alliance Homes Group

Funding to enable the delivery of support programmes for victims of domestic abuse - providing travel and childcare which are often barriers to participation.

Bath Youth for Christ

Donation towards a youth cafe in Twerton aiming to reduce ASB.

Bristol South Community Watch

Funding to support the work of the Bristol South Community Watch who support victims and witnesses of crime to report to the Police.

Community Alcohol and Drugs Misuse Forum

Funding for interactive games and exhibits for the group to work with young people, teaching them about the dangers of drugs and alcohol, as an educational measure to prevent ASB, burglary and other crimes.

North Somerset £2,500.00

Crisis Centre Ministries

Donation to food provision at The Wild Goose Cafe drop-in centre as part of their work to support homeless people on their recovery journey and reduce ASB.

Bristol £3,000.00

Curo

A youth project in South-West Bath and Keynsham including days of action such as community clear ups, consultation and then targeted projects to improve community perceptions of the area and reduce ASB.

Bath and North East Somerset £5,000.00

Empire Amateur Boxing Club

Regular boxing classes in St Pauls, providing mentoring, new skills and increasing self esteem for young people referred by agencies such as the Police or local schools.

Bristol £4,800.00

Revive Youth Community Interest Company

Donation towards project in Greenway Road and Rockwell Green, empowering young people to regenerate a public green space with the aim of increasing community cohesion and reducing ASB.

Somerset £1,000.00

Senior Citizen Liaison Team

Materials for the Senior Citizen Liaison Team to work with older adults with regard to doorstep burglaries.

Avon and Somerset £1,000.00

Southern Brooks Community Partnership

Contribution towards equipment for music related activities with the aim of working with young people who don't usually attend the centre and reducing ASB.

South Gloucestershire £2,000.00

Survive

Grant towards the running of a Freedom Programme for older women in Yate to reover from domestic abuse.

Bristol and South Gloucestershire £5,000.00

Taunton Women's Aid

Weekly women's support group as part of the Halcon 1 Team project for vicitms of domestic abuse.

The Princes Trust

Training and development programme for NEET young people at risk of ASB or becoming a victim of crime.
