Commissioner's Community Action Fund Year 2 Allocation for Quarter 2

Local communities and voluntary organisations across Avon and Somerset have received over £64,000 as part of Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens Community Action Fund (CCAF).

Twenty-three projects across Avon and Somerset were allocated funding for Quarter 2 of the second year of the fund.

The Commissioner's Community Action Fund of £200,000 was launched in May 2013 and has entered its second year enabling communities to continue to apply for grants of up to £5000.

Funding to support the expansion of the Anti-Trafficking Partnership across Avon and Somerset in turn improving the identification and referral of potential victims of trafficking.

Grant towards the local participatory budgeting scheme which will see projects put into place to address ASB.

Bath City Boxing

Boxing sessions for young people identified by a local PCSO who would benefit from this intervention.

Bristol Student Community Partnership

Funding for a marketing campaign to reduce the negative impact students have on their communities such as noice pollution and waste as well as input for students on citizenship and personal safety.

Community Self Build Agency Ltd

Grant towards tools and equipment for project which helps ex-service users build their own homes, with the aim of reducing the ASB and issues linked their homelessness or insecure housing situation.

Crewkerne Town Council

Contribution to local CCTV system which will significantly improve the response to local crime and ASB.

Gordon House Project

Funding towards community day in Easton with the aim of improving community cohesion and relationships with the police.

Contribution towards the 'Nightwalks with Teenagers' project which will see young people at risk of offending or commiting ASB engaging in this innovative project in their local neighbourhood of Knowle West.

A digital programme led by young people to develop a resource about healthy relationships.

Funding to support the Jamafrique Youth and Social club which aims to reduce ASB and prevent isolation.

Mosiac Advocacy Centre CIC

A project which will see young people engage on the subject of ASB, perceptions of young people in the media and the criminal justice system.

Off the Record (Bristol)

Grant to support the work of Off the Record to intervene upstream of crime, ASB and victimisation.

Funding to develop a community resource on domestic abuse along with training and workshops.

A young people's Freedom Programme to support them to recover from domestic abuse.

Taunton East Development Trust

A volunteer sscheme which works on the Halcon Estate which benefits both the local area and residents who take part.

Taunton Womens Forum

A self-defence and safety awareness course for young women and girls in Priorswood.

The Theatre Orchard 

A theatre project for young people in Bournville at risk of offending, looking at issues in the local area such as ASB.

Grant to support VANS to contribute to the development of a Bournville 'One Team' by engaging with the voluntary community and social enterprise sector.

Funding towards a youth club which provides support for young people in Bournville to tackle issues such as crime, ASB and domestic abuse.
