Commissioner's Community Action Fund Year 3 Allocation for Quarter 3

Local communities and voluntary organisations across Avon and Somerset have received over £40,000 as part of Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens Community Action Fund (CCAF).

Nine projects across Avon and Somerset were allocated funding for Quarter 3 of the third year of the fund.

The Commissioner's Community Action Fund of £200,000 was launched in May 2013 and has entered its third year enabling communities to continue to apply for grants of up to £5,000.

Avon and Somerset Dementia Forum

Funds towards safety devices for individuals living with Dementia and at risk of becoming a high-risk missing person, with the aim of safeguarding vulnerable people and reducing the impact on agenies to locate them.

Genesis Trust (Bath)

A grant to extend the opening times of the Genesis Trust to saturdays so that they can provide additional support to those who are homeless or other vulnerable adults, with the aim of reducing ASB.

Integrate Bristol

Equipment to support the work of Integrate Bristol, working with young people to develop resources for those at risk of grooming.

Keynsham Town Junior Football Club

A small grant to support Keynsham Town Junior Football club, with the aim of providing diversionary activities for young people and reducing crime and ASB in the Kelston Road area.  

Bath and North East Somerset  £2,415.00 

Mentoring Plus

A pilot project in parternship with Project 28 which aims to work with a small cohort of young people (aged 14-21) who are displaying high risk behaviours such as crime, substance misuse and sexual exploitation.

Sea Mills Children's Centre

Funding to enable the centre to offer the Freedom Programme to victims of domestic abuse in the area.

Square Food Foundation CIC

A targeted project 'Creating Aspirations for Capacity Building and Empowerment - Cafe' which aims to engage young people of Knowle West through cookery with the aim of reducing ASB.

The Southmead Project

Funding towards a group programme called 'Caring Dads: Safer Children' to support fathers who have perpetrated domestic abuse to address parenting skills to reduce risk to their children and partners.

Unique Voice CIC

Weekly drama therapy-style sessions for school children in five schools in Bristol who require extra support following the Me+You=4eva workshop on healthy relationships.
