Commissioner's Community Action Fund Year 3 Allocation for Quarter 1

Local communities and voluntary organisations across Avon and Somerset have received over £35,000 as part of Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens Community Action Fund (CCAF).

Eleven projects across Avon and Somerset were allocated funding for Quarter 1 of the third year of the fund.

The Commissioner's Community Action Fund of £200,000 was launched in May 2013 and has entered its third year enabling communities to continue to apply for grants of up to £5000.

Grant to support the Ascention Church Hall community facility which engages with a wide range of the community.

Barton Hill Settlement

Working in partnership with Inventing Futures, this project will deliver a series of workshops for young people.

Bristol Gateway School

Contribution to support work to tackle issues such as ASB, domestic abuse and other activities.

RSPCA

A service which supports victims of domestic abuse by providing temporary foster care for pets so that their owners can leave their abuser and find a safe home.

South Weston Activity Network

A range of activities for the South Ward, Weston-super-Mare to support and engage young people with the aim of reducing ASB. 

North Somerset  £5,000.00 

Stand Against Violence

Delivery of interactive sessions at Bristol schools covering the impact of violence and the consequences of actions.

Films, resources and events to raise awareness of modern slavery.

Wansdyke Play Association

A group which works with vulnerable children and young people with the ultimate aim of reducing crime, ASB, poverty and social exclusion.

We Are Fest C.I.C (Bristol Pride)

Contribution to the 2015 Bristol Pride event including resources, volunteer support and materials relating to hate crime, domestic and sexual abuse.
