Joint Audit Committee Member Biographies (Term 2, 2016 - present)

Jude Ferguson (Chair)

Jude is an experienced Senior Executive who has developed and delivered services offering education and guidance for young people and adults, latterly specialising in the development of public/private sector partnerships.  Since 2008 Jude has enhanced her portfolio as a Non-Executive Director at Weston Area Health Trust and as a Member and Deputy Chair of Avon and Somerset Police Authority. 
She is currently Chair of Weston College and a Director of several Limited Companies.

 

Katherine Crallan

Katherine enjoyed a long career in the National Offender Management Service, working for both Wiltshire and Avon and Somerset in the South West Region. She has served on strategic management teams in both community and custodial settings, leading on complex business change programmes, and their audit and budgetary requirements. Katherine’s experience includes secondment to partner agencies to lead change programmes and commissioning, contracting and auditing across organisational boundaries. She has participated in a number of Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Probation / Prisons inspections and acted as an advisor to national change management teams on female prisons.

 

David Daw

David is an experienced Internal Audit Executive who has held Head of Audit roles in a number of large financial services companies over the past 15 years. During this time he has developed in-depth knowledge of best practice internal audit, corporate governance and risk management frameworks and techniques across various sectors. He is a Chartered Accountant and prior to moving into industry worked in external audit for Ernst Young in the UK and Canada.

 

Sue Warman B.Sc (Hons) Cert Ed (Distinction) MEd

After a few years working in industry, first as a bench scientist and then in a role planning major research and development projects, Sue has spent most of her career working in the Further, Adult and Prison Education Sector.  As a biochemist, she taught applied sciences on a variety of vocational and academic courses.  Later, she moved into college management, latterly as a Vice Principal and Deputy Principal.  Her specialisms are quality improvement, human resources, professional development and curriculum management. On retiring, Sue served for 6 years on the Hertfordshire Police Authority as an Independent Member, chairing the Performance Scrutiny Committee, before moving to North Somerset in 2012.
