Public trust and confidence is very important to Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner and the office staff and we want you to know we've updated our Privacy Information Notice to explain how we collect, store and handle your personal data. You have the right to be informed about privacy information.                      

What is ‘Personal Data’

Personal data - sometimes called personal information - includes your name, address and date of birth. This is what you’d expect, but did you know that it can also be who you work for, what you do for a living and anything else someone could use to identify you as an individual? Every time you send an email, text, use social media, write a letter and telephone, you generate personal data. 

Why we collect your data

Within the office of the PCC we want to give you the best service and response possible. For example, when you contact the PCC’s office, the data we hold about you helps us reply to you in the most personal and appropriate way, and this may include suggesting specific services.

How we collect your data

We do this in a number of ways - including when you share your information with us by email, letter, telephone or in person. We treat your data with the utmost care and we securely protect it. 

When we'll share your data

We'll sometimes share data with third parties to help us provide a better service for you. For example, we might be give your name and contact details to Avon and Somerset Police. We will not share your information with third-parties for marketing purposes.
