Commissioner's Community Action Fund Year 5 Allocation for Quarter 2

Local communities and voluntary organisations across Avon and Somerset have received over £25,000 as part of Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens Community Action Fund (CCAF).

Thirteen projects across Avon and Somerset were allocated funding for Quarter 2 of the fifth year of the fund.

The Commissioner's Community Action Fund of £150,000 continues to enable communities to apply for grants of up to £3,000.

Funding to provide weekly sessions of 'dance-like' movement to music, which helps to improve mobility, balance  and memory for the elderly, disabled and vulnerable members of the community.

The Oaktree Park Resident's Association

Funding to install CCTV as part of the community association's activity for the protection of residents that are semi-retired/retired and disabled senior citizens.

Brentry and Henbury Children's centre 

Funding to support and expand the services on offer in the area to help support families.

One Team

Funding to support the 'One Team Project' aiming to help the local community and issues that it faces, such as anti-social behaviour and domestic abuse.

Bridgwater YMCA (Somerset Coast)

YMCA facilitates work in Health, wellbeing, family work, support an advice, accomodation, training and education. Funding for CCTV at Prospect house in Minehead.

Chrysalis Supported Association Ltd's OPOKA-Bristol Service

The charity provides services for women and children of the Polish community that have suffered as a result of domestic violence. Funding to expand their services.

Funding to expand the network between members of the business community and the Police, to support public safety and business security.

Forton Community Association

Funding for CCTV and for organising local events at the community hall to deter and prevent anti-social behaviour in the area.
