Project Summary 

Domestic Violence and Abuse (DVA) 

DVA services for all victims over the age of 16 years, male and female and those in same sex relationships.


Bristol - Total funding from the PCC £222,252

Project Summary 

1625 Independent People (Restorative Approaches in Youth Homelessness Settings) 

To embed restorative practice in organisational culture and enable service users to sustain tenancies, resolve conflict and promote a range of wellbeing outcomes. 

Barnardo's (Nightwatch Bristol) 

Safeguard children and young people from CSE by increasing awareness of CSE amongst businesses and services working in the night-time economy. 

Victim Support (Specialist DVA Caseworker) 

To meet the identified gap in existing provision for medium/low risk client group as highlighted by the OPCC and existing strategy groups (MARAC Steering group).  

Be Safe (Keep Safe Restorative  Therapeutic Intervention)

To finalise and adapt the therapeutic group programme manual for young people aged 13-18 with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities who have harmed sexually their parents/carers. 

Youth Moves (Early Intervention and YP in South Bristol)  

Working with the most vulnerable young people aged 8-19 years from South Bristol, but particularly focused on the areas of highest need where the indicators of multiple deprivation (2015) are the greatest.

One25 (Street Sex Work Outreach Service) 

Services for women trapped in, or at risk of, street sex work.  The service champions a holist, pragmatci and relationship building approach, giving vital care and strong advocacy to vulnerable women across the city of Bristol. 

The Greenhouse (Restore Project - Restorative Justice Sexual Abuse Pilot) 

To enable children and young people who have been victims of sexual abuse to access support take part in a restorative justice approach.  The aim of the prohect is to help victims resolve and restore the damage that has been caused as a result of the abuse. 


North Somerset - Total funding from the PCC £68,975

Project Summary 

North Somerset Domestic Abuse Support Services 

Pooled budget for domestic abuse support services including the Independent Domestice Abuse Advocacy Service and children’s worker (services are currently provided by Chapter 1). 

Somerset and Avon Rape and Sexual Abuse Support (SARSAS) 

Specialist helpline, email support, 1-1 emotional support and specialist counselling. 

Hate Crime Services

Contribution to specialist support for victims of hate crime. Services are currently provided by EACH, SARI and People First. 

Night-time Economy Projects 

Initiatives to ensure a safe evening and night-time economy which will be jointly resources by partners and the contribution from the CSG.

One Project 

Contribution for a projects budget for the One Project (initially in Bournville/Oldmixon)


Somerset - Total funding from the PCC £169,784

Project Summary 

Provider: Knightstone Housing -Early Help for Victims & Perpetrators of Domestic Abuse 

Enable get set services and potentially One Teams and other front line staff to provide early help to victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse in Somerset.

Provider: Mendip District Council - Shape Mendip Neighbourhoods “virtual one team” 

Implementation and formation of shape Mendip neighbourhoods “virtual one team” following similar one team approach across Somerset district councils.

Providers: Langley House Trust, Stonham Housing Association, Taunton Association for the Homeless, YMCA/Elim - Housing Support for Offenders 

Complex Adults Design Group – new multi-agency partnership which is redesigning housing support services for vulnerable clients.

Provider: Somerset Coast YMCA - Somerset West Tenant Ready Scheme 

Encourages and incentivises landlords to let properties to priority households who may otherwise be disadvantaged; including ex-offenders (as identified within the Housing Strategies and Homelessness Strategy).

Provider: South Somerset District Council - Yeovil One Team 

An integrated model of neighbourhood service delivery to reduce demand and prevent crime and disorder within the Yeovil Central Beat.


South Gloucestershire - Total funding from the PCC £74,870

Project Summary 

Victim Support - Anti-social Behaviour Victim Support Service 

Project supports lower level ASB victims who do not match the criteria within the victim’s code of practice for an enhanced service, or do not have the confidence to self-refer.

Survive - Towards Freedom Programme 

Involves group work to support women who have experienced or are experiencing domestic abuse. The programme runs hot-spots that match those identified in the latest Strategic Assessment of Crime and Disorder. 

Survive - Complex Needs IDVA 

Specialising in victims from BME backgrounds, and in complex needs. 

Kinergy - Counselling for Victims of Serious Sexual Assualt and Rape 

Service for men and women in need of significant longer term counselling and support following sexual abuse or rape. 


Youth Offending Team (YOT)


Total YOT/YOS funding for 2016/17 provided by the PCC is £232,296

Project Summary 

Girls and Young Women's Programme 

Specific programme for girls and young women between the ages of ten and eighteen in order to reduce re-offending whilst increasing their self-esteem and confidence.

Specialist Substance Misuse Service 

Substance use assessments and tier one interventions by YOT Practitioners to all children and young people attending the YOT who require substance use interventions. Substance use assessments and tier two and tier three interventions by the YOT specialist substance use worker. 

Restorative Justice Service


Direct and indirect Restorative Justice service to victims of young people who are subject to YOT interventions (Court Orders). All victims will be contacted to offer them restorative justice and the appropriate options will be delivered by YOT restorative justice practitioners who are trained to RJC standards. The YOT works in partnership with Lighthouse and Police Neighbourhood Justice Teams.

Project Summary 

Substance Advice Service


Enables the delivery of interventions to young people involved in substance misuse – to reduce and stop risk activity.

Youth Inclusion Support Project 

Enable the delivery of interventions to young people who have committed offending or anti-social behaviour who have not been processed through the criminal justice system. 


Somerset - Total funding from the PCC is £65,043

Project Summary 

Domestic Violence and Abuse


Work with complex young people, particularly those affected by early trauma from domestic abuse and family dysfunction, and thereby at risk of behaving in anti-social or criminal ways and could be vulnerable to victimisation. One to one interventions on Healthy Relationships to all young people who access the service, providing the opportunity for young people to explore healthy and unhealthy relationships.
