Commissioning and Policy Officer – maternity cover
We are looking to appointment maternity cover for a Commissioning and Policy Officer to join an innovative and ambitious team to support a wide range of commissioning and policy work.
Salary £35,484- £39,585 depending on experience
15 months maternity cover fixed term contract, full time. Secondments will be accepted with written support of the employer.

The main focus of the role will be the OPCC’s work to support victims of crime and Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) including contract/grant management, working with service providers, liaising with national agencies, collaborating with other commissioners and maintaining oversight of the Constabulary.
Beyond this, you will work alongside and support the wider Commissioning and Partnerships Team which covers a range of portfolios including the commissioning of services for offenders, scrutiny of police and criminal justice performance, partnership working and much more.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have an aptitude in commissioning, scrutiny work, undertaking research and providing advice, developing initiatives and preparing briefing documents. You will be confident, innovative and flexible with excellent strategic and communication skills.
The Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) has wide ranging responsibilities for setting the priorities and budget of the Constabulary, holding the Chief Constable to account for delivery of the Police and Crime Plan. The PCC also has wider responsibilities across criminal justice and community safety and commissions a wide range of services for both victims and offenders in order to support delivery of the Plan.
