“I welcome the Government announcement that strangulation in pornography is to be made illegal.  

This is an important step in addressing the dangerous normalisation of violence against women and girls in online content.

Criminalising this content will protect women and girls from violence by addressing how harmful online content shapes attitudes and behaviours.   Together, we can ensure that respect and consent, not coercion and violence, define how we relate to one another.”
