Police Staff Week
As we end Police Staff Week of Celebration and Recognition, I want to highlight the enormous contribution that police staff make across policing in England and Wales. This week shines a light on the breadth and depth of their work, and the vital part they play in keeping people safe.
Police staff contribute the skills, experience and dedication that make modern policing possible. Every day they are the people answering calls for help, supporting victims and witnesses, maintaining the systems and equipment that policing relies on, coordinating neighbourhood work and providing the essential services that keep forces operating. Their roles are central to how policing serves the public.
In her latest internal blog, Chief Constable Sarah Crew asked colleagues to highlight staff who make a real impact. The volume of responses was striking, so many stories recognising individuals who quietly make an extraordinary difference. It was a clear reminder of just how much respect and gratitude there is for the work they do across the organisation.
During Police Staff Week, I want to recognise the valuable contribution of police staff working across Avon and Somerset for the professionalism, commitment, and care they show. Their work may not always visible, but its impact is felt in every community.
