Statement from PCC Clare Moody on Incident in Speedwell

“This was a shocking incident in Bristol, particularly for the residents, schools, and wider community in Speedwell.

“Violence of this seriousness has no place in our communities. I want to acknowledge the swift and highly professional response from Avon and Somerset Police, who deployed specialist resources and quickly arrested three people in connection with the incident. Their decisive actions will have provided some reassurance about a very worrying incident. 

“I understand how concerning this has been for local residents. I will continue listening to communities as the investigation progresses, and I remain committed to working with partners to prevent violence and keep people safe.”
