Only a few days left to nominate the best in local policing

Best-on-the-Beat-Bridgwater-Team

Best on the Beat

Less than seven days to get your nominations in and recognise your local beat manager, police community support officer, police staff member, special constable or community volunteer at the Neighbourhood Policing Awards 2014.

Many people have already taken the time to acknowledge the tireless work of those who ensure we are safe and feel safe in our communities and you can too by thanking them for their efforts with a Neighbourhood Policing Award nomination.

Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens said: "Receiving Neighbourhood Policing Award nominations from local people means so much to the officers, staff, specials and volunteers. They tell me there is nothing more rewarding than being recognised by the residents and local communities they serve.

"If you feel that members of your local neighbourhood beat team have done something notable then we want you to tell us about it."

To nominate, visit www.neighbourhoodpolicingawards.co.uk. Nomination forms are also available in police stations and libraries.

Acting Chief Constable John Long said: "Neighbourhood teams, police staff and volunteers demonstrate utter commitment to ensuring our communities are safe, day in, day out. Many often put their own lives in danger to protect others. Therefore it is right that every so often we stop to recognise and celebrate their continued hard work, and that is what these awards are all about.

"If there is a member of the policing team in your area who has made a real difference to your life, please take a few minutes to nominate them; it will really mean a lot."

The closing date for nominations is August 4. After this date an independent panel will select winners across the policing districts and an awards ceremony will be held on Thursday November 13, 2014 at Cadbury House.

The Neighbourhood Policing Awards is only possible thanks to sponsorship from local and national businesses. Many thanks to The Bristol Post, Medlock Charitable Trust, Unison, AN: Event Services, Workhouse Marketing, Double Tree Hilton Cadbury House and Rolls Royce.

There are still sponsorship opportunities available and if you are interested in sponsoring the Neighbourhood Policing Awards please email amber.thomas@avonandsomerset.pnn.police.uk
