Thank you for your Be Proud Award nominations

Thank you is the message from Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens and Chief Constable Andy Marsh as this year’s Be Proud Awards nomination period comes to an end.

Over 200 nominations were submitted by the deadline, recognising the hard work of teams, neighbourhood officers, response officers, investigative officers, special constables, police staff, specialist operations and volunteers.

A panel of judges including Sue Mountstevens, Chief Constable Andy Marsh, the Bristol Evening Post and key sponsors will meet in March to decide on the finalists for each of the award categories.

Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens said: "I am delighted with the effort that local people have taken to submit nominations for our new Be Proud Awards. It means so much to know that local people want to recognise those who work hard to ensure our communities are safe and feel safe.

"Thank you to everyone that has taken the time to nominate. I will enjoy reading the nominations in more detail to find out more about the people working hard in your area and the things that mean so much to you. Selecting the winners is not going to be an easy task.”

On Thursday, May 18 a glittering awards ceremony will be held at Cadbury House Hotel, Congresbury.

The Be Proud Awards are only possible thanks to our proud partners including The Bristol Post, Western Daily Press, Unison, BT, AN: Event Services, Double Tree Hilton Cadbury House, SEA, Deloitte, Nomura and Securitas.

There are still sponsorship opportunities available and if you are interested in supporting the Be Proud Awards please email amber.foreman@avonandsomerset.pnn.police.uk
