2024 Election website launched for the role of Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner

The role of Police and Crime Commissioner for Avon and Somerset will be up for election in 2024.

The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner has launched a dedicated website for anyone interested in the role and for those standing as prospective candidates.

The role of the PCC is to be the voice of the public and to hold the police to account. They work to ensure policing is effective and efficient policing and aim to cut crime maintaining responsibility for the totality of policing.

PCCs are elected by the public to hold Chief Constables and the force to account, effectively making the police answerable to the communities they serve. They work in partnership across a range of agencies at local and national level to ensure there is a unified approach to preventing and reducing crime.

The website content is maintained by the Avon and Somerset Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner with support from the Police Area Returning Officer (PARO).
