This quarter, the panel reviewed 24 completed complaint files, relating to how police officers or staff carried out their professional responsibilities. The focus was on the quality and standard of service provided by the police, rather than their behaviour or attitude.
The latest quarterly report – June 2025 – is available to read
The independent oversight the Panel provides holds Avon and Somerset Police to account, with the aim to increase public confidence in the complaint process. It also helps to identify potential issues with how complaints are handled and suggest improvements to maintain fairness and justice.
