Justice for Melanie: 30 years on

Thirty years after Melanie Hall disappeared following a night out in Bath, a renewed appeal is asking the public to help bring answers to her family.

Melanie was just 25 when she was last seen in the early hours of 9 June 1996. Her family have lived with the uncertainty and loss ever since, showing remarkable strength over three decades.

The Police and Crime Commissioner Clare Moody is supporting the ‘Justice for Melanie’ campaign, backing efforts to help secure the answers her family have waited so long for.

The independent charity Crimestoppers is putting up a reward of up to £20,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for Melanie’s murder.

The campaign will focus on encouraging anyone who remembers details to:

  • Contact Avon and Somerset Police via the Major Incident Public Portal
  • Call 101 with information for the Operation Denmark team
  • Visit an enquiry office
  • Contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously via their website or by calling 0800 555111
