Commissioner welcomes new Assistant Chief Constable

New ACC appointments

ACC Nikki Watson and ACC Sarah Crew

Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens has congratulated two officers who have been appointed to senior positions within Avon and Somerset Police.

Assistant Chief Constables Nikki Watson and Sarah Crew were both appointed following a recruitment process last week. In taking on their new roles they will each have a portfolio of responsibilities; Nikki will be responsible for the Prevention, Protection and Prosecutions portfolio and Sarah will take the lead for the Local Policing portfolio.

The appointments were made by Acting Chief Constable John Long following a selection process which included an interview panel that Sue took part in. Welcoming their appointments, Sue said: “In Nikki and Sarah we have two outstanding officers joining the Chief Officer Group to help make sure policing in our area is as strong as it can be. They’re both experienced officers who will be able to bring their professionalism, enthusiasm and innovation to the role. They both have responsibilities in important areas of policing which affect our  communities and I’m looking forward to working with them to help deliver my priorities for local people.”
