Sue and her team set to attend summer events

Bristol Pride

Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens or her team will be coming to an event near you this summer as part of a programme of events to meet local people and listen to their views.

Every summer Sue and her team visit key community events as part of her aim to be as accessible as possible to local people. This summer Sue or members of her team will be visiting the Royal Bath and West Show, the Weston Air Show, Bristol Pride, Dunster Country Fair and the Taunton Flower Show.

These visits are part of an ongoing commitment to regularly spend time in communities across Avon and Somerset. Most weeks, Sue spends a day in a community visiting local projects, speaking at events and holding drop-in sessions. Public forums are also held every two months with recent events in Keynsham, Yate and Bristol and, in July, in Somerset.

Speaking ahead of the summer events, Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens said:

“Across Avon and Somerset we have some fantastic community events which draw huge crowds. They’re a great opportunity to meet people and hear their views about policing in their area. I firmly believe that I should be going out to meet people where they live to talk to them and the summer events are a great way for me to do that.

“I’ll be at these events along with some other members of my team and we look forward to chatting with as many people as possible – and hopefully in glorious sunshine! If you’re coming along to the events please do come and say hello – your views are important.”

North Somerset residents also have a chance to meet Sue, ask questions and find out more about local policing at the next public forum. The event will be held at Gordano School in Portishead between 7pm and 9pm on Wednesday June 3rd, 2015. You can reserve your seat online or by calling or emailing the Police and Crime Commissioner’s office.

If you can’t make the events but still want to make your views heard you can contact the Police and Crime Commissioner’s office by phone on 01275 816377 or by emailing pcc@avonandsomerset.police.uk.
