Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens
Businesses from across Avon and Somerset will have a chance to meet with the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Sue Mountstevens when she hosts her first business meet and greet next week.
Ms Mountstevens will be discussing her plans to establish a business crime forum in Avon and Somerset. The meetings will enable PCC Sue Mountstevens to introduce her vision and objectives for tackling crimes against businesses and to give businesses the chance to be able to share their thoughts and ideas on the issue.
Ms Mountstevens’ initial meetings with businesses will be held on:
Monday 11 February 2013, 18.00-19.00 at Taunton Creative Innovation Centre
Wednesday 13 March 2013, 18.00-19.00 at Leigh Court, Abbots Leigh
Speaking about the business crime forum, Ms Mountstevens said: “In my experience businesses have a real desire to engage with the police and I feel that a Business Crime Forum, which will be at a very strategic level covering the whole of Avon and Somerset, would be the platform for this.
“There is really excellent work going on at street level but we need to have a much more joined up approach where we can learn from good practice. In having a Business Crime Forum, I want to engage with retailers and businesses because they are key to our economy and a really important voice which I do not think have been listened to before.”
