PCC Police Public Forum - North Somerset
Residents will have the chance to help shape local policing in Avon and Somerset on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at a public forum to be held at the Town Hall in Weston-Super-Mare.
This will be the fourth public forum across the force, this time giving the residents of North Somerset the chance to meet Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens and Chief Constable Nick Gargan and ask them their questions.
Commissioner Sue Mountstevens said: “This is the first public forum that the Chief Constable and I have hosted in North Somerset and I am looking forward to hearing from residents about policing in their community.
“The aim of the forum is to make policing as accessible as possible, giving residents the chance to ask open and honest questions of the Chief Constable and I and to ensure residents feel safe in and around Weston.”
The session will also include an overview of policing in North Somerset by Chief Superintendent Nikki Watson and a Q&A session, which will allow people to raise any local concerns, ask about policing in their area or any other local issues.
If you have any questions you’d like to ask you can also email us in advance at firstname.lastname@example.org We recommend that you do this if you have a question that might need some research (ie: regarding a specific issue in your area).
Chief Constable Nick Gargan said: "The PCC and I came to North Somerset to visit both our staff and the public in the Autumn. It was extremely interesting but a whistle stop tour and I am keen to hear more from local residents.
“It is absolutely right that people should have an opportunity to shape and influence the policing plans and this forum will allow us to hear directly from people living in the county. Please let us know your views on the service we provide and what you think our local policing priorities should be.
“North Somerset is a very interesting and diverse area. It has varying policing needs, ranging from the urban needs of Weston to the very different requirements of rural villages such as Blagdon, both equally important and challenging.”
The Forum is on January 28, 2014 at the Town Hall in Weston-Super-Mare between 7pm – 9pm. To make sure a seat is reserved for you please email email@example.com or call 01275 816377
